New website on Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency
Written by Scott Nimmo
Monday, 23 June 2008

As many of you know, EPI is a commonly found in German Shepherd Dog populations.

And excellent site was posted to the White Shepherds Genetics list under a fortnight ago that I think is a great resource (sorry about the delay, Lillian of Litter B takes a lot fo time :p ).

The website is http://www.epi4dogs.com/ .

 They even use a picture of a poor white shepherd.

 I may be wrong but it is my understanding that the author is involved in the Texas A&E Canine Genetics project, so this will be a great resource for the most up to date information.;

Lets be clear here, my issue is about the misinformation, to minimise the damage being done to our breed and the community. I feel for the family in a way that Bridezilla does not understand.

People that have nothing to do with this family are being victimised because of these media articles. Just becuase some cannot get past their opinion that we have a German Shepherd with a disqualifying fault and

The news articles on print and tv were full of various mistruths and dangerous claims. Some ethical breeders took issue with this.

They feared also the message that was being sent to the community and the harm that this could cause to future dogs born from inexperienced breeders with no understanding of the disease history of there dogs.

Some of these problems were...
